  7. The Interactive Graphics roadway design system (IGrds) is a computerized system
  8. that allows certain roadway design processes to function in an interactive
  9. graphics environment using graphic display in both input and output phases.
  10. IGrds provides roadway design engineers, designers, and draftspersons with a
  11. responsive automation tool that increases productivity, optimizes the design
  12. process, and reduces resource requirements. IGrds is a modern roadway design
  13. system that is offered with two license options: the Alphanumeric and
  14. Interactive Graphics Options

  16. The Alphanumeric Option is a mature roadway design system providing
  17. productivity gains to the roadway designer in the design and computation of
  18. roadway horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway geometric, cross section
  19. definition and modification, earth work, right of way requirements, and
  20. construction staking. The Interactive Graphics Option is an enhanced version of
  21. the Alphanumeric option, adding a method of operation that is similar to the
  22. interactive graphics drafting systems that are being implemented in increasing
  23. numbers by the transportation community.
